About Deetlefs Wine Estate

Deetlefs is the second oldest family-owned wine estate in South Africa, steeped in seven generations of history since 1822. Situated at the foot of the Du Toitskloof Mountains in the Breedekloof Valley, the estate has 105 hectares planted under vines (60% white, 40% red), producing 1.8 million litres annually. Now in its seventh generation under Managing Director Kobus Deetlefs, the estate is renowned for its Pinotage and Chenin Blanc. Visitors consistently praise Kobus's generous and knowledgeable hosting — reviewers call it "the best wine tasting they've ever had."
